Wallonia doesn't want to help the unemployed...
... or another example of Belgian and Walloon surrealism. The Walloon unemployment office stops offering jobs to the unemployed. The Belgian federal legislation says long-term unemployed can only refuse a job offer a few times, else the federal employment service can suspend the unemployment benefit. The regional offices have to transmit this information to the federal administration (which is only done by the Flemish, but not by the Brussels and Walloon unemployment offices). The FOREM (Walloon unemployment office) does not agree and stops offering jobs, since that means nobody can refuse a job offer. This does not only mean a shameless violation of the federal laws, but the FOREM does not even carries out its primary task. Such a move can only happen with the consent of the omnipotent Parti Socialiste. This is another sign the PS wants to control Wallonia using clientelism and sustaining the social profitariate. The Walloon people are not to be blamed. Would you work if you didn't have to? But the result is Flemish unemployed are suspended, while Brussels and Walloon unemployed do not have to search a job.
